The Northern Periphery Programme and Nordisk Atlantsamarbejde (NORA) jointly hosted a maritime safety Partenariat in Copenhagen in the offices of the Northern Periphery Programme Secretariat.
Aim The aim of the Partenariat was to generate projects related directly to maritime safety in the NPP area and including the North Atlantic area.
Outcomes The following project ideas are now under development as a result of the Partenariat. A contact person has been assigned to each project idea.
Enhancing safety of navigation in Arctic area - Gertrud Hermansen, Danish Maritime Safety Administration
Training standards of rescue services - Hilmar Snorrason, Icelandic Association for Search and Rescue
International Emergency responses to maritime accidents - Asgrimur Asgrimsson, Icelandic Coast Guard
Accident prevention, training and human resource development - Per-Olof Karlsson, Novia University of Applied Science, Finland
