The NPP 2007-2013 organised a special event on First Level Control in cooperation with INTERACT. The purpose of the event was to inform all National Controllers about different procedures in the NPP 2007-2013, the European perspective and to exchange thoughts about the control system.

All appointed National Controllers and desk officers carrying out first level control were invited to attend. There were representatives from Faroe Islands, Finland, Iceland, Ireland, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Sweden.

The Managing Authority was also present to answer questions.

The following topics were addressed:

• NPP 2007-2013 Application Procedure
• Financial claim procedure in the NPP 2007-2013 and timeframes
• NPP 2007-2013 Common Eligibility Rules and European Regulations on eligibility
• Good practice and common errors from a European perspective
• Information & Publicity requirements
• First Level Control checklist
• NPP 2007-2013 information sources & guidance documents

The idea was raised to hold a similar seminar on a yearly basis to exchange thoughts experiences about the control system.
