A new Project Officer has been appointed at the Programme Secretariat, Ms. Rachel Burn. 

Rachel will start her work at the Programme Secretariat on 16th of March 2010. Her main tasks will be to act as a desk officer for a number of NPP projects and to provide guidance to applicants and Lead Partners.

Rachel has been working as an ERDF Project Advisor for Yorkshire Forward, Yorkshire & Humber Development Agency in Leeds, England.

In her own words she is "really looking forward to starting work with the Northern Periphery Programme". She explains that the position of Project Officer affords her "the opportunity to work in a dynamic , multicultural, and transnational funding programme, and this was the main incentive to apply for the role. My background working in the English Regional Development Agency, Yorkshire Forward on the ERDF 2007-13 Programme, will stand me in good stead for my new role with the NPP. I have prior experience as an ERDF Secretariat Officer, and for the past year I have performed a project development role as an ERDF Advisor. I am really looking forward to the development and priority challenges of the Northern Periphery, and look forward to meeting my wider NPP colleagues shortly."
