This project aims to promote the geology, and its many links to the natural, built and cultural heritage of the Northern Periphery region. This project will seek to connect the Northern Periphery’s fascinating geological heritage and enhance geotourism opportunities. 

The objective of the preparatory project is to identify common ground for the project, identify relevant partners in the Northern Periphery Region and in Canada and identify opportunities to conserve, enhance and promote geological features and linked heritage.

The main project will conserve the heritage features that contribute to attracting visitors to the destinations. It will create new or enhanced tourism opportunities leading to sustainable employment and economic growth through enhanced and extended visitor experiences. Most importantly it will bring together partner regions to share experiences, opportunities and increase mutual sharing of the benefits derived from our common heritage.
