The primary goal of the project is to contribute to the EU2020 Strategy by strengthen and preparing the infrastructure in agricultural regions in the in Northern remote and peripheral regions for future processing and utilization of bioenergy.

The objective of this Preparatory Project is to build a network of organisations in the participating countries. This project will connect new and existing knowledge and experiences to develop project plans and carry out the main project.  The expected outcome of this Preparatory Project is a detailed project plan for the main project “Bioenergy and organic fertilizers in Rural Areas” (BofRA)

Finally, this Preparatory Project will analyse the current situation in chosen regions in all participating countries and their ability and benefits of implementing a new strategy for future combined processing and utilization of organic residue materials for bioenergy and organic fertilizers.
