The idea of this project is to show that local renewable energy can vitalise regional industrial and business development, and will contribute both to a more robust development of the regions within the Northern Periphery and to an environment friendly industrial production reducing the carbon leakage.
The project defines itself within priority area of Northern Periphery Programme promoting innovation and competitiveness in peripheral areas. Regional innovation system is at focus through cooperation in networks and through processes to design and develop smart specialisations strategies. Corporation and smart specialisation strategies is organised as a triple helix between SMB's (energy producers and industrial fabrication) R&D institutions and regional political and administrative organisations within and across regions of the Northern Periphery area.
