The main objective of the Main Project will be to improve the overall business, lifestyle, landscape and learning opportunities in each partner country.
This will be achieved by identifying and assessing plants suitable for the Northern Periphery Area and developing new best practice guidelines for the propagation of the plant stock. This will utilise the special opportunities/ possibilities provided by each country/partner such as climate, available plant material, energy resources, soils etc. The project would then aim to develop new markets for the new plants and encourage the development of expertise in growing the new plant material. This would be in conjunction with assisting the developing an educational programme for young people with learning difficulties in peripheral areas.
The project would also aim to study marketing and propagation practices from each country with the aim of spreading best practice to other countries through a knowledge transfer programme based on seminars, workshops, public demonstration sites and the development of retail outlet opportunities for the new plants.
