The difficulties in the export sector as a result of the global economic downturn highlight the challenge that many SMEs are very dependent on few major domestic customers. Therefore solutions should be created how to help SMEs address and reach new markets with existing and new products. Nonetheless, before the SMEs currently active in domestic markets will be able to successfully enter global markets they have to also improve their global competencies. Quite often SME and especially small companies operating in domestic markets are hesitant to grow and start international business. In order to activate this target group successfully, new services and processes need to be developed.
As an end product Global Competence – project will have created a transnational product for SMEs that enhances SMEs skills and ability to operate in the competitive global markets and in longer term it will increase the SMEs growth, turnover and export possibilities.
