Northern Periphery Programme 2007-2013
Two NPP projects reach RegioStars 2011 Finals
17th February 2011

The jury for the RegioStars 2011 Awards has selected two NPP projects as RegioStars 2011 finalists:
  • The NoCry project in the category “Anticipating economic change”
  • The Our Life as Elderly II project in the category "Information and Communication", which is a photo competition.

The NPP Secretariat congratulates both projects!

The winners, chosen by the RegioStars 2011 jury, will be announced during the RegioStars Awards ceremony currently scheduled for 23 June 2011 in Brussels.

Online vote
This year, there will be two winners in the communication category, the official jury's selection and a winner chosen by the public. DG REGIO will organise an online vote on its Regional policy website. During the month of March the web users will be able to vote for one of 10 finalists: apart from the five official finalists, the web users will be able to select a winner from five additional "online finalists". You are encouraged to participate in this online vote.

RegioStars Awards
The European Commission's objective with the RegioStars Awards is to find good examples of regional development and to highlight original and innovative projects that can serve as a source of inspiration for other regions.

For this year's RegioStars Award, a total of 66 proposals from 18 countries were received by the European Commission.
